TomatoFare 2009 is all about the food and growing Heirloom Tomatoes. Part 2 highlights the Chefs, the food and Grupo Samay. Chefs Chris and John Hussey from Two Brothers Northwest Catering prepared a variety of tastings made with fresh heirloom tomatoes as the not-so-secret ingredient. John and Chris have both worked with food all of their careers. John started as a fry Cook at the local Dairy Queen, Chris as a Grocery Clerk as Produce Manager at a local grocery. Both graduated from Omak High School in 1990. Chris and John attended Le Cordon Bleu Las Vegas Culinary Institute in 2006 and became accredited Chefs. Both graduated with high marks. John with Honors Cum Laude. Chris has worked at such fine dining establishments as Black Mountain Grill (Las Vegas), Viaggio’s (Las Vegas), Red Rock Country Club (Las Vegas) where he and John both completed the Externship requirement of their degree. John became a Banquet Chef at Red Rock Country Club. Both reside in Soap Lake and work at Griffins’s Bakery and Cafe in Moses Lake where Chris was promoted to Executive Chef and John is the Baker.
